Virginia Center for the Creative Arts

Winter 2025

VCCA was a very prouctive experience. This was a similar model to VSC–roughly 30 residents, though in addition to writers and artists there were also several composers. I brought a stack of drawings to finish, and I ended up getting into some experimental printmaking, video, and a sprawling tape installation.

One feature of VCCA is that the studios have beds, so if you want to work late and then just crash, it’s easy. I found this especially great because I enjoyed tracing teh moving light and shadow in the midwinter mornings, moving fast across my studio wall.
